YELLOW - FALL Homework
YELLOW - FALL TERM
For the FALL term the Yellow students will build a repertoire of songs and rhymes and have a positive experience in the group with music each week.
NOTE WRITING: The Yellow students will now learn to write the rhythms using stick notation on special lined sheets to prepare them for reading notes on the staff in the Green level.
Rhythm Names: We will use TA (quarter note) TEE TEE (eighth notes) and the quarter note rest through the year. In the Fall the children will make various rhythm patterns using popsicle sticks.
Melody Charts: Along with rhythm training the children will use Melody charts to develop pitch training.
JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH: For the Fall term we will listen to the music of Johann Sebastian BACH. Please play Bach music in the home while the children are colouring their weekly handouts.
The piece of music by Bach I want the children to recognize is the MINUET IN G. The BRANDENBURG CONCERTOS are also fun to listen to while colouring the weekly handouts.
PETER TCHAIKOVSKY: For November and December we will listen to the NUTCRACKER SUITE.
HOMEWORK WEEK BY WEEK: For Fall we are starting on Lesson 1. Workbook page numbers are in brackets.
