YELLOW Spring Homework
YELLOW - Spring
For the Spring term the Yellow students will continue to build a repertoire of songs and rhymes and have a positive experience in the group with music each week.
NOTE WRITING: The Yellow students will continue to write the rhythms using stick notation on special lined sheets to prepare them for reading notes on the staff in the Green level.
Rhythm Names: Again we will use TA (quarter note) TEE TEE (eighth notes) and the quarter note rest.
Melody Charts: Along with rhythm training the children will continue to use Melody charts to develop pitch training.
LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN: For the Spring term we will listen to the music of Beethoven. Please play Beethoven music in the home while the children are colouring their weekly handouts.
The piece of music by Beethoven I want the children to recognize is the theme from the NINTH SYMPHONY, also known as ODE TO JOY.
HOMEWORK WEEK BY WEEK: For SPRING we are starting on Lesson 25. Workbook page numbers are in brackets.
